With under 4 months till the Nepean Triathlon an update below of recent goings on…
Winner of our Atmosphere Health & Fitness training camp
Congratulations to Brendan Bleeker of Bulli. Brendan will be attending the 4 day triathlon clinic given by Hawaii Ironman legend Dave Scott at Atmosphere Health and Fitness Club at Penrith in November. Places are still available for this unique training session happening in Penrith. See how you can be a part of this too.
Entrant numbers extended
There are 1,150 now entered in the Nepean Triathlon which is close to breaking an all time record. The increase in numbers being possible due to a new one lap bike course. We also have 5 of the 6 Australian Commonwealth Games triathlon representatives confirmed as racing. And, with a record number of female entrants we are going to have two all lady waves this year. New one lap bike course
A new one lap bike course has been approved by council. this will remove congestion in and out of the Regatta centre and allows more entrants to participate in the event. The course will be similar to the Ironman 70.3 event being held shortly after Nepean. So an excellent training event for this! View course maps
Personalised race numbers
A first for Nepean. We are going to have first names on chest plates being worn in the bike and run so fans can cheer you on by name! You may wish to check your first name on your registration to make sure you are happy with what will be printed. Check your entry
Another first. Disposable timing chips will be used this year so you don’t need to worry about returning these post race. Race packs containing timing chip, swim cap and race number will be available for pick up on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning before the race.
Guy vs Girl handicap
Unique to Nepean, the girls verses guys handicap this year will be set at 10 minutes 18 seconds. With a record $76,500 in prize money up for grabs racing should be full on at the pointy end of the race! See all prizemoney details
