Professionals line up for Nepean Triathlon

Outstanding professional field for 2014 Atmosphere Nepean Triathlon. 

If you are not racing on Sunday, you should be watching the Atmosphere Nepean Triathlon. With a great professional field up front racing for a record $76,500 prize money and 1400 competitors on the course, complete with John Maclean attempting his first triathlon as an able bodied athlete, the Nepean and the Saturday Enticer races are shaping up as the races of the season.
Adding additional interest is Steve Waugh, Glenn McGrath, Phil Kearns and Ky Hurst all having a go with John and a 60 Minutes team capturing all the action.

Tour De France Travel lucky draw

For the third year running we are giving away a Tour de France Travel trip to follow the Tour de France in 2015! Below is

The lucky draw prize will be drawn at the completion of the Nepean Triathlon during the official presentation. The winner must be an entrant in the Nepean Triathon and be present at the time of the draw. Prize does not include airfares.

Join the JMF WalkTheTalk

A separate event being held at the closing stages of the Nepean Triathlon on 26 October is the JMF WalkThe Talk.

The JMF WalkTheTalk is a 5km walk with John Maclean as he completes his final lap of the Nepean Triathlon run leg.

The money raised from the walk is going to little Aussies in Wheelchairs to grant them the equipment they need to remain as active and included in every day life as they can. JMF will be presenting a grant to a local Western Sydney Family at the completion of the event.

The URBAN volunteers

The Atmosphere Nepean Triathlon is pleased to announce a partnership with long-term triathlon supporter, the Urban Hotel Group.

Urban Hotel Group have come on board as the Official Race Day Volunteers Sponsor. The URBAN Volunteers are the backbone of this event and will be a part of each athlete’s race day experience as they assist and encourage them to get them to the finish line.

Early bird entry winner announced


Congratulations to James Downey who has won the early bird entry prize consisting of a double pass for a rafting session at Penrith Whitewater Stadium valued at $188.
The winning race entry number was drawn by Jack Hodge, Manager of the Penrith Whitewater Stadium.

John Maclean to complete the Nepean Triathlon

As featured on 60 Minutes, John Maclean, who became a paraplegic whilst training for the Nepean Triathlon 26 years ago, is responding to treatment that is enabling him to take steps and walk again. John’s next challenge is to complete the  Atmosphere  2014 Nepean triathlon, as a individual competitor.

Competitors and supporters of John and the John Maclean Foundation (JMF) can now race beside John as we are are hosting a JMF wave which will start after the last  age group wave of the current program.

The aim of this wave is for competitors to participate together with John.  Swim, ride and run/walk, encouraging John to the finish line. If you would like to race with John just select JMF Wave when entering online.

Competitors in this wave will not be eligible for age group awards and as a result of road closure restrictions must be able to swim 1km and ride 30km in 2hrs or less.

Nepean weekend of Triathlon 2014 – Results

The Nepean Weekend of Triathlon will be held on the weekend of 25 and 26 October 2014 with the Nepean Enticers held on the Saturday afternoon and the Nepean Triathlon held on the Sunday morning.
Entries for all events are now at capacity. Numbers, while extended this year due to course changes, are kept to a level to maintain a safe and enjoyable event for all competitors.
