The 1km swim leg is held within the confines of the main lake of the Regatta Centre. Wetsuits are allowed unless the water temperature is over the Triathlon Australia regulation 24 degrees. View swim course map.
You will not only pass around the 2000 Olympic rowing course but also pass by the white water course. The course then turns at the northern end just past the historic Castlereagh Council chambers (one of the first 5 Macquarie towns) and turns around at the southern end opposite one of Australia’s oldest churches. Detailed course description: Start with a clockwise lap of the rowing lake, turn left onto old Castlereagh Rd (out of gate A), left at roundabout onto Castlereagh Rd, left into Whitewater centre and complete a short out and back section. Then left from Whitewater centre back onto Castlereagh Rd and head north along Castlereagh Rd to Devlin Road where a “U” turn will be completed. Then head directly back to the Regatta centre along Castlereagh Road to the roundabout at Andrews Rd, turn right at the roundabout and head west just past Gate A for a short distance to complete another “U” turn and head back to gate A, turning left into the Regatta centre and directly to transition.
A fast 10km run course, consisting of two laps of the Regatta centre main lake in an anti-clockwise direction – you will run past the spectator area 3 times fishing in front of the grandstand. View run course map
