Emma Carney Victorious

Tim Bentley won his second impressive title and a young Emma Carney kicked off her career in triathlon after a stellar running career. Emma’s performance embarrassed a few of the top men that day, not only for her speed but also for her wash board stomach! Emma was to go on to win duel World Triathlon titles and multiple Australian titles.

In 2004 Emma was diagnosed with a similar heart complaint to Greg Welch (Ventricular Tachycardia) which ended her athletic career.
